More safety and comfort
Introduced with the
ASK 21 Mi,
it is now also available for the
ASK 21.
Not only the better comfort advises a retrofit, even more the safety for the front pilot is improved.
Nowadays in every car headrests are self-evident, but in many older sailplanes they are missing. They are designed to prevent the backlash movement of the occupant's head should a collision occur.
A requirement for a headrest is part of the current certification specifications for sailplanes, but this was not the case, when the
ASK 21
was certified. Therefore, we designed the headrest purposely in a manner, which allows to retrofit the
ASK 21
in order to contribute more safety for pilots.
The headrest is mounted on the back rest and is adjustable in height. When flying without back rest, the headrest is inserted in a special mounting in the crossmember below the rear instrument cover.
