The 2016 US Soaring Convention in Greenville provided not only an opportunity to show new developments in the Schleicher product line-up with five motorgliders (ASG 29 Es, ASH 30 Mi, ASH 31 Mi and two ASG 32 Mi) , but also to introduce Rex and Noelle Mayes as the new US representatives for the famous sailplane manufacturer. The location of the US Schleicher representative has now changed from eastern US to California.

John Murray had been our reliable US partner for over 30 years. Over this lengthy period he and his company, Eastern Sailplane, provided extensive support to American soaring pilots, particularly as a very knowledgable contact about new Schleicher sailplanes, maintenance, spare parts or repairs. His wife Linda was a great help in all these areas.

He also was and still is very much involved with competitions – now with his ASG 29 Es – and his striking sailplane trim colour schemes and „LX“ competition marks have become a sort of Trademark.

We are greatly indebted to John and Linda and will certainly remain in contact with them. John will also support Rex and Noelle with maintenance and repairs in central and eastern USA.

Schleicher head Uli Kremer used the 2016 convention as an opportunity to officially hand over the dealership and personally thank John and Linda. Rex was able to introduce himself and his company by making a presentation at the convention. Subsequently, Uli Kremer made himself available at discussion session to answer questions from convention attendees.

Rex and Noelle Mayes and their Williams Soaring Centere are located in California in western USA. Their facility includes a well-equipped repair shop, a flying school, a charter operation and a soaring supply business.

We very much look forward to our future collaboration with Rex and Noelle and wish John and Linda all the best, with future good luck and especially good health.
