AS 35 Mi is EASA certified

The AS 35 Mi has received its EASA type certificate – the green light for production!

Nine months after its maiden flight, the next major milestone has been reached: EASA has granted the AS 35 Mi its Type Certificate. This marks the successful completion of the extensive certification process and paves the way for serial production.

9 months of testing

Since its maiden flight last November, the AS 35 Mi has undergone rigorous evaluation as part of an extensive flight-test program. Numerous test flights, measurements and trials have confirmed its performance, defined its flight characteristics and provided the evidence required for certification.

For the entire development team, this meant an intensive period, with many hours spent in the air and even more at their desks.

More than just some flights

Reason is behind every one of these flights lies extensive technical work on the ground: measurement equipment has to be installed on the aircraft, data evaluated, results analyzed, compliance demonstrated, and the insights incorporated into the technical documentation.

“To have the Type Certificate issued just nine months after the maiden flight is a testament to the consistent, focused work of the entire development team,” emphasizes Joschka Schmeisl (Head of Engineering and Design). “The excellent and constructive cooperation with the responsible authorities also have to be highlighted.”

However, the work on the project continues. In addition to the 20 m version, we want to make the second 18 m wingspan available to our customers as soon as possible as well, enabling them to compete in yet another FAI class.

Here we go!

The certification marks the final major milestone in the development of the AS 35 Mi, and the next big step is now within reach: the delivery of the first aircraft to our customers.

Serial production has been thoroughly prepared over the past few months and can now get fully underway.

We look forward to writing this next chapter with you and delivering the first AS 35 Mi aircraft to our customers very soon.
