In recent weeks, shortly before and during our company vacations, pilots flying AS sailplanes were again able to achieve outstanding competition results and became champions in many countries. We congratulate them sincerely.

 

 

 

Lithuania

At the Lithuanian Nationals Darius Gudžiūnas became the new club class champion in his ASW 20 and Andrej Lebedev, also with an ASW 20 won second place.

France

At the French Open Class Championships at Issoudun Le Fay the team of Laurent Aboulin and Esteban Loring won the championship in their ASH 25.

Hungary

Zoltán Verebélyi

There were two national champions with Schleicher sailplanes at Szatymaz, Hungary.  ASG 29 pilot Zoltán Verebélyi won the „Mix Open“ class by a significant margin and the FAI-Clubclass was won by Szabolcs Veigli (ASW 20) while Attila Korom came in third, also with an ASW 20.

Great Britain

In Great Britain as well an ASG 29 pilot came first in the 18m class. Kim Tipple won the national championship at Husbands Bosworth.

Bosnia and Herzegovina

The FAI Sailplane Grand Prix in Bosnia and Herzegovina was won by Gintas Zube of Lithuania in his ASG 29 after six competition days.

Sweden

Peter Cutting

Peter Cutting

Peter Cutting (ASG 29 E) is the new Swedish Champion in the 18m class.

Holger Eriksson (ASH 26 E) secured third place at this competition in Skövde, Sweden.

 

In the club class, Thomas Pollack (ASW 19 B) and Kato Kvitne (ASW 20) finished second and third respectively.

Germany

At the German national championships at Marpingen ASW 27 pilot Steffen Schwarzer became the new FAI 15m racing class champion and Sebastian Huhmann (ASG 29) finished an outstanding third in the 18m class.

At the 11th FAI Junior World Gliding Championships in Szeged, Hungary, Jake Brattle (ASW 20) became the new World Champion of the club class and compatriot Finn Sleigh (also ASW 20) came in second.

Austria

Clemens, Guido and Michael

Clemens, Guido and Michael

At the Austrian Championships, Guido Achleitner and team mate Clemens Haslinger won the mixed class in their ASG 32 Mi.

Michael Rass finished second in the 18m class with his ASG 29 Es.

Canada

At the 3rd FAI Pan American Gliding Championships at Rockton, Canada, all three classes were won by Schleicher pilots.

Jerzy Szemplinski won the 18m class, followed by Sergei Morozov and Joerg Stieber (all Canada) all in ASG 29s.

Luke Szczepaniak (Canada) won the mixed 15m/Standard class in his ASW 27 B and Carlos Iucci (Argentinia) won the club class with an ASW 20.
