After almost 49 years into a well-deserved retirement
The fact that employees retire at regular intervals is no surprise for any company. But when an employee has been learning and later working in the same company since the age of 15, this is almost unusual today, but of course makes us all the more happy.
After almost 49 years of loyalty to the company, our employee Gosbert Menz punched out for the last time on Wednesday and thus entered his more than deserved retirement. According to his own statement, his time in our company was characterized by many good experiences and he accompanied our company in the big steps of the company history. Thus, in 1973, at the age of 15, he began his apprenticeship in our company with work on the ASK 13. Gosbert was the last trained wooden aircraft builder with us and he experienced a time when gliding had its great upswing with aircraft such as the ASK 13 or later also the ASW 20 and ASK 21, which still influence gliding today.
In all his time with us as a light aircraft builder, Gosbert never took up flying himself. However, he did build model airplanes privately and flew them, so he couldn’t do without airplanes.
Gosbert, we wish you all the very best and congratulate you on your well-deserved retirement. We are very happy that you have remained with us for so many years and thank you for all your hard work over the years.
