2016 Lower Saxony Championships
Hans-Martin Tronnier and Werner Rodi win the Qualification competition – photo gallery
During most of the morning briefings at the 2016 Qualification competition at Rotenburg/Wümme the meteorologist stated that “it will remain difficult”. Often the small weather windows did not permit larger tasks or forced the organizers to cancel the task after everyone had assembled on the grid. In the end only three valid days were flown.
The pilots competed in three classes for the right to fly in the German Nationals next year.
Hans-Martin Tronnier, of AC Braunschweig was the happy winner in the FAI 15m racing class. Daily placings of 1, 8 and 4 were enough for an overall win for the ASG 29 E pilot.
The winner of the clubclass was Werner Rodi of LSV Burgdorf with his newly renovated ASW 19 B. One daily win as well as second and third placings on the other days put him right on top of the podium at the end of the competition.
Freddy Hein, also from LSV Burgdorf, came in second in the Standard class with his ASW 28. He was only eight points short of first place in the final results.
